During the Pandemic

So it's been awhile since I've written anything in this blog, and I can't really blame the Covid-19 pandemic on that.  Guess I've just been a bit lazy.  A lot has been happening or happened since my last post.  Before Covid-19 shut everything down I was making a lot of progress towards the release of my second cd, Transmissions From a Heart.  Had about half of it recorded and initial mixes done on six songs.  The good news is that since late September I've been able to get back into the studio and started to ramp up the recording process again.  Got ten songs pretty much completed with just a few overdubs left to do, and two more songs that we are planning to record for the cd.  Hope to have it completed sometime in early 2021!

So far the songs on the cd will be:

Two Hearts, Line of Sight, The Opposite of Loneliness, How Can This Be Love, Jane, Falling, Without A Trace, Linger, Hunger For A Simple Life, Lament, and Learning From Our Past

All original tunes, no covers

Since all my gigs were cancelled with the pandemic I've had a lot of free time on my hands to devote towards writing.  Wrote about nine new tunes while we were all in various stages of pandemic induced isolation.  Not that anything good can come out of all this weirdness going on, but that was a definite bright spot for me.  Also produced a Youtube series of videos during the pandemic called "Quarantine Days".  Did nine of them with my son, Adam Swanson producing/filming them.  Just me playing two songs for each video, a cover tune and an original composition.  You can find them on Youtube.  Recently also been live streaming on my facebook page.  Every two weeks, Thursday nights @ 7:30pm.  About 45 minutes to an hour of live music, covers & originals, plus just some conversation.  An opportunity to play for anyone during these very slow times.

Well, that's a nice quick update on what's going on.  I'm going to be trying to post more frequently from now on.  Trying to broaden my digital footprint so to speak.  Hope you all are well.  Stay healthy, stay smart, stay free
